That Time I Made a Paper Dress // WIPA Phoenix

Heidi Moore • art fashion

paper dress

When Rachael and Sam of Imoni Events were planning a WIPA event at the Phoenix Art Museum, they made a request that I’ve never received before. They asked me to make a dress. Out of paper. A paper dress. Mind you, I’ve designed clothes for the idieh design shop, and I’ve crafted many a thing out of paper, but I’ve never married the two entities. Paper Dress? Say What?!? As I learned from Saskia & Mike’s modern wedding, the art museum is such a cool and unique venue that I knew I wanted to make a statement with the piece I created (not to mention I wanted it to be a LBD). I started by sketching out my ideas, and then figuring out how to make my vision a reality. Again, using paper. If you know anything about me, you know I have a thing for hearts, so I … Read More

“Jumping for Floral” Summer Jumpsuit Trend

Emily Smith • DIY fashion

One of my favorite summer trends is jumpsuits! Jumpsuits are lightweight, easy to wear, come in all sorts of prints, and you ambitious girls can even follow Carissa Miss‘s tutorial to make your own, like this one! This floral jumpsuit was handmade for me by one of my favorite blogging friends, Carissa Miss! Carissa is a creative DIY blogger who’s a total whiz on the sewing machine! I picked our this fabulous black and floral fabric because I swoon every time I see dark florals! She’s made a few different jumpsuits for herself too, so scroll down to see the color she picked for herself! Now I want to wear jumpsuits every day! The simplicity of just wearing ONE item of clothing is so refreshing! I styled this floral suit with ankle strap heels, a big jeweled bracelet, and black sunnies to dress it up! These beautiful photos were taken … Read More

Palm Beach Inspired Looks

Mollie Sheperdson • fashion

Was anyone else super excited for the Lilly Pulitzer for Target launch and then totally let down when the collection sold out by 8:05am?? #fail. For those of you not lucky enough to snag one of the pieces (which is most of us!), I’ve put together some of my favorite Palm Beach inspired looks to take you from a day at the beach to an ocean side dinner. Now if only the weather on the East Coast would get the message… Swim Suit: J. Crew / Tote: Vineyard Vines / Beach Blanket: J. Crew  / Flip Flops: Vineyard Vines I am so in love with straw tassel tote from Vineyard Vines. Not only does it have tassels (view my tassel obsession in my last post), but it is a nice structured bag that is big enough to hold all the essentials. There is nothing worse than a floppy beach bag. … Read More

Emily Smith • fashion

Guatemalan bags are my favorite 2015 trend! I’ve styled this guatemalan tote with a modest bow skirt, graphic tee, wedges, and some wind! I’ve even snagged you a few promocodes so scroll down to get the deets! I’ve been crushing on these Guatemalan bags ever since I lived in Guatemala for a year and a half while serving an LDS mission! In Guatemala the  women wear traditional tops called huipils. This amazing company called Musbags uses recycled huipils to make gorgeous bags, clutches, and totes! Aren’t they gorgeous The size I chose is the “Exploradora” size bag so I can fit my macbook, files, wallet, a cardi, and a few diet cokes inside! You can get your own Guatemalan Musbag for 15% off through the end of April off using the discount code HERE on my blog! I styled my bag with this adorable purple bow skirt from Dreaming in Pink … Read More

Trend to Try: Tassels

Mollie Sheperdson • fashion

Tote: Big Buddah / Sandals: Loeffler Randall / Earrings: Baublebar / Necklace: Baublebar / Scarf: Forever 21 / Dress: SUNDRESS / Bucket Bag: Rebecca Minkoff / Bracelets: Gold & Gray / Heels: Missguided TGIF everyone! Confession time: I have got a serious thing for tassels right now. From something more subtle like a trim on a scarf to this vibrant orange dress, tassels are everywhere! I like them because they add a fun, trendy vibe to even the simplest of outfits. Just stacking a few of these wooden bracelets with jeans and a white tee instantly transforms your look. They almost have a beachy aesthetic making the trend perfect for the upcoming summer season. I plan to be rocking this look all week long: the adorable tote from Nordstrom at the office, and the flirty pink heels for happy hour. Is anyone else crushing on tassels? Have a great weekend! Mollie

“Park Perfect” A Look for the Disneyland Bound

Emily Smith • fashion

Happy Spring Break! I’m  Disneyland Bound this week with my husband’s family and I’m loving it! I wanted to share with you my perfected Disneyland look in case any of you find yourselves in Disneyland this spring or summer! It all began with this fabulous Elsa frozen baseball tee from JC Penny! I bought it especially for this trip to Disneyland but I regularly wear it around the house and to bed too! The key component of this vacation look are these modest knee shorts from Journey Five! I discovered Journey Five on a deal site called Jane.com when these shorts were featured for a daily deal. These shorts are a modest length (and keep you from burning the backs of your thighs on hot rides as a bonus!) and they fit like leggings (aka my favorite item of clothing in this world!) I styled this look with my favorite floral baseball … Read More
