Happy Valentine’s Day, Friends!
Or, as I like to call it, Happy Heart Day! My love for Valentine’s Day started when I was just old enough to decorate and design my own contraption that would collect all of my Valentine’s I received at school. You know, when all the girls would patiently wait for that one Valentine that said, “Will you be mine?” to arrive from their secret crush? I relished in the craft of meticulously designing and creating the masterpiece that would house that one Valentine.
Fast forward to today and I think my love for the holiday might come from the fact that the stores are flooded with hearts or maybe it has SOMETHING to do with seeing my brand’s color palette EVERYWHERE! Either way, the holiday is just so cheery & bright (and candy is involved), so I’m naturally a fan.
Like many of you, I’ve experienced Valentine’s Day with and without a significant other. No matter the situation, the day didn’t affect me much. If I was single, I treated myself to a day at the spa, some cupcakes, and was supa dupa fly. If I had a sweet cheeks, I always looked for ways to show them they were loved. But this year, this year is different. This year I know my Valentine is legit. He’s here to stay. And, that, my friends, makes this girl’s heart burst in the most unexpected way.
I am so, so thankful for this amazing man that came into my life just a short 19 months ago. He has literally changed my perspective on relationships and has made such a HUGE impact on my life that I can only imagine what the years ahead will bring. So this year on this every special Valentine’s Day, I’m shouting from the rooftops that I am the luckiest girl to have the BESTEST of the best Valentine this year. (No offense.) This man somehow managed to steal my heart when it was under a strict lock & key. He’s that magical.
My challenge to all of you out there, no matter if you have a Valentine or if you are still on the hunt, is to embrace wherever you are. If you are single, LIVE. IT. UP. If you are in a relationship, write down all the reasons he/she is the one for you. Take this glorified LOVE day and put it to good use. Express to all those you love – significant others, kiddies, family – how much they mean to you. Write down five things you love about them and share that list with them.
Because, like those decorated boxes from when we were little, we all secretly decorate our heart on this day in hopes of receiving a few Valentine’s messages that let us know just how special we are. Happy Heart Day! xoxo
Surprise! There is also a FLASH SALE happening today over at the idieh shop. Use code HEARTS and get 20% off your order. Share the love!
HUGE, huge shout out to Amy & Jordan of Amy & Jordan Photography for taking all these fabulous photos. These two lovebirds will have you falling in love with THEM within seconds. Make sure to go check out all their fabulous work. Any Glee fans out there? Yeah, they photographed Heather Morris’s (Brittany in Glee!) baby bump. They are sort of a big deal.
